ARCHERY TEAMS GETTING READY TO HEAD TO NATIONALS
It's been a busy season for our Westwind Archers and it's not over yet!
Archery Teams from Cardston High School, Cardston Junior High School and Mountain View School are getting ready to attend the Canadian Nationals NASP tournament in Regina in April and have been working hard to fundraise to help cover the costs of this exciting trip.
This past weekend athletes travelled to Edmonton for the NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) Provincial Tournament. All of the results from the NASP Provincial Tournament can be found HERE.
Cardston High School placed 2nd out of 13 teams in the high school division. Kale Brown was a standout at this tournament placing 2nd for the grade 11 boys, 3rd overall in the high school boys category and 3rd overall out of 821 total competing male athletes in the tournament. Cameron Beazer placed 2nd in the grade 12 boys category, and in the grade 9 girls category Shaelee Wright placed 2nd and Summer Hallock placed 3rd. Well done CHS!
Westwind was well represented in the middle school division with Mountain View School placing 1st out of 19 teams and Cardston Junior High School placing 4th.
Mountain View athletes swept the grade 7 category with Hallee Pilling winning the girls category and James Leishman winning the grade 7 boys category. Both Hallee and James placed 2nd overall in the middle school girls and boys categories. Also from MVS Hannah Pilling placed 2nd for grade 6 girls and Shayde Primrose placed 2nd for the grade 5 boys. Excellent work!
Several weeks ago athletes competed in the Westwind School Division Divisional Archery Tournament and here are the results of that meet.
Next on the archery agenda Cardston High School is looking forward to hosting the South Zone tournament on April 13th. Keep up the great work, Archers! Good luck at Nationals!
