Team Westwind Mrs. Burton is using Jamboard, a Google app, to do live reading instruction with one of her students who has dyslexia. One of the ways Mrs. Anderson made learning fun this week was by playing linear equations bingo game with her grade 9 class over Zoom! Recognizing that many students do not have regular art supplies at home, Mrs. Pottinger has worked hard to adapt assignments so that students can use the materials they already have. Mr. Barfuss was able to send some produce home with students when they came to pick up their books, and they have been sharing photos of the meals they have made using the ingredients they grew. Mrs. Vornbrock has been missing her students so much she sent each of them a personal video! She and her CES teammates have also put together learning packages for students to use while they are at home so they can continue their learning. Our custodial staff have been working overtime to ensure CES stays clean and healthy. Mr. Scott Quinton teaches Biology and Chemistry at Cardston High School and he has been busy creating video lectures and using Zoom meetings and google classroom to connect with his students. Mr. Kearl has made arrangements to live-stream workouts twice a week for his students online, and he had quite the turnout today! We love how he's working so hard to keep kids engaged and active! Mrs. Gilson misses doing morning announcements, highlighting student birthdays, and telling jokes, so she's started making YouTube videos to reach out to her students. Cardston High School Student Sam Hudson is having no trouble completing his assignments at home! He submitted a video musical video assignment this week. Miss Meagan Fullerton-Lee, a teacher at MES, has started an instagram account to share awesome book recommendations to keep her students reading.
