In today's episode, we are featuring Sydnee Roberts, the recipient of Westwind School Division's Edwin Parr Award 2019/2020 nomination that recognizes excellence in a first-year teacher. We chat with Sydnee about her New York experience auditioning for Broadway, her fundamental educational philosophies, and what advice she'd give to students about living their dreams. We also speak to RES Principal Jerry Salmon about some of the challenges first-year teachers face and what made Sydnee a stand-out candidate for this nomination.
This was most interesting. I found it motivational and entertaining at the same time. What a wonderful journey Sydnee has had. We are very fortunate to have her in our division. Her students are lucky to have her has their teacher.
