Introduction:
Westwind School Division is seeking a caring and talented Educational Assistant (EA) to join our dedicated team at Blue Ridge Colony School. EAs play an essential role in student learning, often working closely with some of our students who need more specialized attention.
EAs are key members of the school team, and they work in different places within the school, such as regular classrooms, special classes, and other unique spaces. Their job is all about helping students who have various needs, including those related to thinking and behaviour, emotions and relationships, and physical abilities. Being an EA means being flexible and willing to adapt. What they do might change from one year to the next or even during a single school year.

Being able to bridge the language gap and create a comfortable learning environment is key.
- Handle Diverse Students & Situations: We're seeking someone who not only feels comfortable but also excels in working with students of all ages who may require additional support. We're also looking for someone who can handle whatever comes their way and adapt to different situations with ease.
- Respect and Understanding Hutterite Culture: It's essential that you have a basic understanding and respect for Hutterite culture, beliefs, and the community's values. This understanding will go a long way in building strong relationships with both students and their families.
- Demonstrate Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: We're looking for someone who excels at communicating and collaborating with teachers to create effective behaviour and learning plans. Students thrive when everyone works together, so if you're great at collaborating with others, you'll fit right in.
