The position will commence at the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year and conclude on the earlier of June 30, 2026, or the teacher being replaced.

The successful candidate will:

• Teach Grade 3.
• Have a solid understanding of the learning dynamics of younger students, coupled with the creativity to design lessons that ignite a child’s curiosity and foster exploration, discovery, and personal growth. 
• Exhibit strong classroom management skills.
• Thrive in and contribute to a collaborative school culture.
• Demonstrate flexibility and an ability to build and nurture positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and our community.
• Possesses strong assessment skills with proficiency in providing constructive feedback and understanding of outcome-based reporting.
• Have a strong knowledge and experience with literacy and numeracy instruction, assessment, and intervention.
• Understand how to help students develop social and emotional competencies.

Additional desirable skills and experiences include:

• Proven knowledge and experience working with First Nations, Metis, and Inuit learners.
• Proficiency in assessment for learning strategies to track and improve student progress.
• An understanding of trauma-informed practice and experience working with students who have encountered trauma.

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• A strong understanding of and the ability to demonstrate the Alberta Education Teaching Quality Standard.
• A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
• Willingness to provide a current vulnerable sector check before employment begins.
